Sophisticake was opened in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire in 2003 & has been running successfully for over 17 years. My name is Dawn & my love and passion for this creative art form started over 30 years ago & for over 25 of those I've been teaching, alongside baking & decorating cakes. I now pass on my experience & knowledge of this fascinating subject tutoring at my shop.
I also undertake a number of talks and demonstrations throughout the year.
I have a large and impressive portfolio both at my shop and a taster here on my website. The cakes you see are, of course, to either choose from or to give you ideas towards a design of your own. After all, your occasion is special and personal to you, so why have someone else's cake, let me help to make your vision a reality.
From our first meeting & tasting (the cakes of course have to taste as fabulous as they look), to design, completion and delivery.
I use the finest ingredients as they really make the difference in the end product. The fruitcake, an old family recipe, is dark, rich and moist; full of plump juicy fruit.
The sponges are perfect cutting cakes, delicious and baked fresh to order & there are plenty of flavours to choose from.
All the cakes created at Sophisticake are unique & therefore pricing is on an individual basis, but of course I can work within a sensible budget.
I also understand the need to cater for clients with special dietary requirements and I have, over the years, perfected recipes for diabetic cakes, gluten free, etc. each a delicious as the next.
Although a small Lincolnshire-based business, Sophisticake provides a nationwide delivery and set-up service for wedding cakes & can also arrange the same for birthday cakes, etc.
